Jack's memoir about a beloved sister has been called a "story of a love that cannot be broken by time or death" by author and poet Cortney Davis (Leopold's Maneuvers and Taking Care of Time). Susan Campbell (Dating Jesus and Tempest-Tossed: The Spirit of Isabella Beecher Hooker) writes, "If you grew up in Smalltown, U.S.A. – and even if you didn't – Sting of the Heat Bug will take you home."
